There’s no question that spectrum is a valuable (and finite) resource. In the last ten years we’ve come to use it to watch movies, share photos and videos, and do a whole range of things wirelessly that we once could only dream of. Now, we’re going to be using the spectrum to save lives on our roads and in our cars.

Early in my automotive career, I moved from the East coast to the Detroit area.  Naturally, I understood immediately the impact of the industry on the region.  But our industry’s growth and expansion beyond the midwest – and its creation of new automotive communities -- did not hit home for me until I began at Global Automakers.

If you have ever met me, you know that I am both a proud New Yorker and a car guy. Learning that Governor Cuomo and the State legislators included a $2,000 per vehicle rebate program for Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEVs) in the States’ FY 2016-17 budget was gratifying. My state stepped up.

Right now in New York, two major events are happening. North America’s most-attended auto show is set to kick off at the Javits Center in New York City, with automakers unveiling some of the sleekest, smartest and greenest electrified vehicles ever produced. Meanwhile, a few hours up the Hudson River, the New York State legislature is preparing a budget to unveil.
