Energy & Environment

Global Automakers' members strongly support and are aggressively pursuing innovative ways to reduce CO2 emissions to protect the environment and lessen the nation’s reliance on fossil fuels. Our members are creating alternatives to petroleum by investing in advanced technology vehicles powered by hydrogen fuel cells, clean diesel, electricity, sustainable biofuels, and natural gas. Our members account for 82 percent of the U.S. hybrid market and offer the only hydrogen fuel-cell and natural gas-powered vehicles available to consumers in America. This year, one of the Association’s members is bringing the first zero-emission mass-market vehicle to American consumers.

Global Automakers advance our member companies’ environmental goals by working with lawmakers to provide manufacturers the lead-time to design and build the type of advanced technology vehicles needed while continuing to provide consumers with a full range of vehicle choices.
